I woke up today when Beamer kissed me before he left for work. I love the man. I love him with all my heart and I embrace his flaws and attest that I will stand by him no matter what happens.
December 28, 2010 we were married at the Fall River City Hall. It was a tedious and strenuous day.
Rewind:
Dec. 24 at 5am, we left for New Jersey to celebrate Noche Buena with my family. During that day, my sister and I went to Toys R Us to look for gifts with my Mom and Aunt while Beamer was taking a nap. Afterwards we went home to fetch him and we went to the Filipino store which is called Phil-Am to buy some spices and condiments. Then we went to Walmart & Marshalls to look for other gifts. I started wrapping gifts while my father and Beamer went to his friend's house for drinks. I got hammered during that night while my sister stayed home and opted to sleep which was probably a better idea.
Dec. 25 at 8am, my sister went to Newark for a flight to Cincinnati to fetch my nephew for my wedding. We woke up (hangovered) and was bound for New York to celebrate Christmas with my in-laws. We checked-in at the Holiday Inn. The receptionist was a novice. He was a boy who was not courteous at all and lost Beamer's credit card. I wondered how on earth you can lose a credit card on such a small hotel with a minimal amount of paper stocked infront of him. I know, I know...I was not bitchy at all and I told him to check the CCTV instead to save time. After an hour in the room, I called again and still he did not find it and I asked if he already found it to which he replied negatively. I again, told him to check the CCTV and asked if its working because clearly we do not have time for BS. To cut a long story short after another hour while bound for my in-laws house, he found the credit card.
I love Beamer's family. You can feel the love in that household. The grandkids are sweet and really really pretty and the twins are really really cute. Beamer and I received tons of gifts from them. I specifically love the apron my Mother-in-law gave.

We went back to the hotel and then news about a blizzard which I ignored thinking that I am a lucky person and I usually get what I want.
Dec. 26 at 6am, we went back to the in-laws for breakfast and stayed there for an hour. Then left at 7am to catch the ferry to New England. We were stranded at the ferry station, car overheated, road rage, annoyance and starvation were experienced during that drive on what should have been a 4 hour drive from NY to Mass. and instead we had 10 hours.
I have never prayed to the unseen mover of all for a good weather on my wedding way, it was my fault. I have never thought that a BLIZZARD could actually happen on that day but it did.
My Soul sister and her family traveled 2 days just to attend my wedding. They left Toronto 26th early morning and they arrived 27th late night. The kids were exhausted.
My parents and Godfather almost didn't make it for fear that the road will be too dangerous but they still managed to arrived same time as Sissy.
My lil' Sister though was unfortunate enough to travel from the NJ on the 25th to Ohio and flight was cancelled on the 26th. She flew from Ohio to Minneapolis thinking that it would be a better route on the 27th but it was in vain. She took the Plane to Rochester, NY and while we are having the wedding reception Beamer and I were also booking Greyhound bus for her from Rochester to Newark. But again, the circumstance hindered her and my nephew to be in our wedding. The bus drove from Rochester to Syracuse and then there was no available bus so they took an 800$ mini-van and shared it with other passengers. They arrived in NY in the morning (after my wedding) and decided to rent a car to have a 4 hour drive from NY to Massachusetts. Damn it! I love my Sister! She tried very hard and Beamer was awed by how strong-willed she was. When they arrived she slept for a couple of hours and then we went to Marshalls to bond while shopping. She told the story that in the airport she was crying and my nephew held her face and said: Its okay Mommy, we can do it!
I am just so happy that my soul sister, my parents and my sister tried so hard to go to the wedding even to the extent of defying forces of nature. By now Beamer realized that I will do the same for them as well.
There are gazillions things to do still but first let me say how much my life has changed since I arrived here in US. I experienced snow and blizzard, be married and become a housewife. I gained a new family who surely loves Beamer so much and met new friends. I am in deep awe and gratitude to my soul sister and her family, my parents and Godfather who helped me during the wedding and a lot of love for my sister and fatboy for trying so hard to see me.
I love you guys! Beamer and I will always be grateful and appreciative. You ROCK my world!
